Birdwatching in international Tejo

Birdwatching in Tejo.

The centre of Portugal and especially the International Tejo is one of the most relevant areas for watching birds in the country. It is an area of big soaring birds such as birds of prey and it is also visited by many migratory species. There are many highlight species in the area. Some Examples are, boneli eagles and griffon vultures. But we can also find Western Orphean warblers or azure-winged magpies. There is plenty to explore in this beatiful area. Come and see it for yourself.

Seia

Seia
The lovely city of Seia is just a 10 minutes drive away from “Casas da Lapa”. Known for being one of the highest cities in Continental Portugal, Seia offers a set of activities that go way beyond its small dimension. We suggest that you feast on the wonderful cheeses of this region, from which we can highlight the Serra da Estrela cheese and the “Requeijão”. But since cheese when sided with bread has a totally different flavour, we recommend a visit to the bread museum, where you can, not only get to know everything there is to know about this typical and exquisite Portuguese flavour, but also purchase a variety of fine exemplars. On the Serra da Estrela Interpretation Centre you can get to know more about the mountain vegetation, geology and all the different wild life forms that there inhabit.
