Located in Foz Côa, Casa do Rio is the latest project of Quinta do Vallado, an extension of the Wine Hotel in a house with 6 bedrooms on the banks of the Douro River. The building, all made of wood, is in complete harmony with the nature and the silence of the place invites to a unique retreat experience in this wine region.
Casa do Rio offers in addition to the rooms, meals, SPA and an infinity pool overlooking the river. There are also unique experiences to discover the Douro such as boat trips, cooking workshops or fishing programs.
João Ferreira, the owner of Quinta do Vallado is also the person behind the new project from this brand. Similar to Quinta do Vallado, Casa do Rio is a complement to the traditional wine business with a distinguished new hotel.

From Porto airport head south and turn right towards the ramp to Porto / Matosinhos / Maia. Then follow signs for A41 / Maia / A3 / Braga / A42 / Felgueiras to converge with A41 and continue to A42 towards Felgueiras / Paços de Ferreira / A24 / Chaves.
Take the A11 exit towards Porto / A4 / Amarante / IP4 / Vila Real. Continue on the A4 until the exit towards IC5 and then follow the IP2, then N102 and then take the N222 until km 213 where you will find the Casa do Rio at Quinta do Orgal.
