Once Upon a Time...

The cosy Quinta do Chocalhinho is located in the town of Bemposta and just minutes away from Odemira, among valleys and hills criss-crossed by trails of century-old olive trees, cork trees and fruit trees. The houses with the traditional Alentejo architecture are part of an estate with native flora and fauna, lagoons and a beautiful forest with a seasonal pond, a unique ecosystem vital for the species living there.

The location is, in itself, an invitation to hiking and cycling on the nearby Rota Vicentina. Its 10 double rooms and 5 one-bedroom apartments with private terrace invite you to relax, away from the hustle and bustle and stress of modern life.The dedication with which the breakfasts are prepared, using predominantly local products and organic products from the organic garden and cooked in the traditional manner.

Quinta do Chocalhinho is a true family tourism home, in the best sense of the concept, with a family always available to welcome and take care of their guests.

Luís Freitas inherited 70 ha of land and an old, rundown house from his beloved grandfather, of the same name. Then, as a gesture of appreciation and tribute, he rebuilt the house and, together with his family, he currently welcomes his guests as the former owner always welcomed his friends: in a warm and brotherly way.

Coming from Lisbon, take the A2 motorway.
After the Grândola Service Station (7 km after) exit the A2 motorway towards Beja-Ferreira.
After the toll booths, take the exit for the IC1 secondary trunk road, on the left, and continue on towards Ourique-Algarve.
After about 40 kilometres (after exiting the A2 motorway), at a large intersection (with a carriageway separator), turn right to exit the IC1 towards Oeste-Odemira.
After 35 kilometres, at the entrance to Bemposta, you will see the walls and gate of Quinta do Chocalhinho on your right.

Reservations: A credit card is required to secure your booking.

Cancellation: If cancelled up to 7 days before the arrival date, no penalty will be charged. If cancelled between 4 and 7 days prior to arrival, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total reservation will be charged. If cancelled less than 2 days before the arrival date, or in the event of a no-show, a penalty equal to 100% of the total cost of the reservation will be charged.
